Lakewood Playhouse AUDITIONS. GENERAL INFORMATION
To your audition, you should bring/prepare:
CALLBACKS
- Sign up via Casting Manager
- Auditions may be scheduled with 5-10 minute blocks for each non-musical audition.
- Auditions may be scheduled 10-15 minute blocks for musical auditions.
- Walk-up auditions will be fit in where possible or added to the end.
- Auditions are most often scheduled to be 3-hour blocks on consecutive Sunday (6-9pm) and Monday (7-10pm) evenings.
- Actors will be asked to confirm that they have reviewed the supplied materials and are aware of the requirements as outlined in the audition notice or invitation.
- Auditions shall not be recorded unless specified in the notice or invitation (an exception being if video audition submissions are accepted.) Submitted recordings will only be used among casting authorities and deleted after the completion of casting.
To your audition, you should bring/prepare:
- A Headshot (candid pictures are accepted as well)
- A Resume with relevant skills, education, and experience.
- Monologues as requested by the Director that is appropriate for the material in the Show.
- A Song FOR MUSICALS ONLY - Please Include 16 Bars of a favorite song (no Sondheim, please)
CALLBACKS
- Callbacks are by invitation only.
- Lakewood Playhouse will provide hard-copy sides and music and provide callback materials in advance if possible.
- We will not ask prospective participants to attend more than three (3) callbacks for a single production. Callbacks generally run 2-3 hours for non-musical plays and 3-4 hours for musicals with dance callbacks, music callbacks, and character reads.
- We will not ask prospective participants to disrobe or perform violence or intimate contact as part of the audition or callback.

Audition dates for Complete Works:
Monday August 7th, 7-9:30pm
Tuesday August 8th, 7-9:30pm
Callbacks: Thursday August 10th, 7-10pm
All roles (3 total) open for all genders and ethnicities, 18 years and up
Helpful: Experience with improvisation/audience participation
Experience with stage combat
Guitar player
Note: This is a delightful but physically strenuous, fast-paced show
Please prepare: A short (1 minute max) comic monologue, Shakespeare or not!
There will also be a short cold reading and possibly a bit of improv
Rehearsals will start on Thursday August 24th (7-9:30) and after that run Monday-Thursday 7-9:30 pm, with Tech weekend September 16th and 17th, tech/dress rehearsals September 18,19,20 with Preview September 21st. Performances are Friday and Saturday Eves at 7:30 and Sunday Matinees at 2. The show opens on Friday September 22nd and closes on October 8th, with a Pay-What-You-Can performance on Thursday September 28th.
Cold read for audition, to be provided at audition, not prior.
