Teaching Artist: Noel Koran Dates: July 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th Time: 6:00-8:00PM Cost: $200 William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest playwright and poet in the English language. His plays are still regularly performed 600 years after his death because they are as timely today as they were when they were written.
Because his plays were written in 16th Century Elizabethan English and as poetry, it’s important for actors to learn how to understand, analyze and speak his words so that modern audiences can understand and enjoy the rich beauty of his plays. This four day workshop is an introductory course for actors to learn the basics of speaking Shakespeare’s verse for the stage. In the workshop, we’ll learn about how to deal with the scansion, rhythm, pitch and poetry of Shakespeare’s timeless plays. |
