Jefri Peters
Nena Curley

Jefri is the Education Director for Lakewood Institute of Theatre at Lakewood Playhouse.  She is very excited to be a part of Youth/Adult Theatre at Lakewood Playhouse. She has been involved in South Sound Theatre for the past 6 years playing a variety of roles at Tacoma Little Theatre and Lakewood Playhouse.

As a director, she last directed The Little Mermaid, and Anne of Green Gables at Lakewood Playhouse, Peter Pan and A Christmas Carol at Gig Harbor Academy, and Jungle Book at Metro Parks this past year.

Jefri has an enormous love of children and a joyful teaching style.  She is creative in her work allowing students soar to new levels as actors and people.  She is a team player and has been in charge of numerous parks programs in past years.

Jefri adores the role of motherhood to her darling son and thanks her family for their continual support.

Jen Ankrum has been involved with the youth education program at the Lakewood Playhouse for over 10 years, which she can hardly believe.

Having been involved in theater and dance for many years as a child, she was eager to get her daughter involved at a young age so she enrolled her in a production of Peter Pan ... And that was that.

Since that first production, she has directed a number of youth shows as well as become an active member of main stage production, serving as scenic artist, stage manager, prop master and occasional actress.

"Theatre is an amazing environment for every type of child. The skills that are developed in the rehearsal and production process as invaluable and easily translated to every facet of life."

"Come play with us! Come on.. You know you wanna ...."

Nena Curley graduated from the College of Idaho in May 2011 with a BFA in Theatre. She focused on Stage Management there and has put that to use here in Tacoma. Her most recent credits include Stage Managing Sherlock's Last Case at Lakewood Playhouse, and Miracle on 34th Street at Tacoma Little Theatre. Nena is extremely excited to be joining the L.I.T. program, and looks forward to the many wonderful productions to come.
Shawn is originally from NYC and moved to Washington in 1992 at the behest of Uncle Sam. Years later, Shawn began improvising as a member of Tacoma's Tokens Improv and later as Performer/ Director with Dead Gentlemen Improv, a division of the locally semi-kinda-legendary Dead Gentlemen Productions ("The Gamers", "The Gamers: Dorkness Rising"). He was also a featured performer in various Dead Gentlemen Productions comedic sketch works including the award-winning Campaign Ad featured on Current TV. He was also immortalized in print as the playable character "Harkadian" in Dead Gentlemen's recently published Demon Hunters Role Playing game and its accompanying short film: "Demon Hunters Orientation Video". Shawn took a hiatus from active performing to teach and direct improv classes and shows at Lakewood Playhouse, while filling in as a host of Wing It Production's Fremont Outdoor Movies and making guest appearances with Jet City Improv. He finally gave in to the pressure and joined Jet City and Twisted Flicks as a cast member in 2009 and as an instructor in 2010.
