Jeremy is the Director of Educationfor Lakewood Institute of Theatre at Lakewood Playhouse. Jeremy is thrilled to be joining the Lakewood Playhouse staff and to bring over 21 years experience of working with youth in theater educational performance to the South Sound.
His passion for theater began when he was promoted from stagehand to assistant stage manager for a production of South Pacific as a junior in high school. Once bitten the theater bug encouraged him to immerse himself in theater projects learning most aspects of the process along the way.
Educator. Director. Actor. Administrator. Designer. Playwright.
For eight years he worked closely with Live Theatre Workshop in Tucson, Arizona where he started as an instructor and ultimately went on to serve three years as Artistic Director.
He served as Interim Education Manager for Fairbanks Shakespeare Theater and reveled in performing the Bard's work under the midnight sun.
Locally he has worked Village Theater in Issaquah on the education staff and performed as Matthew Shepard's father and others in The Laramie Project at Tacoma Little Theater.
"Having that moment while working with a student, when the light bulb goes off, and the world of theater opens up to them is priceless. It's an amazing gift to be able to share this world with the families of our community."
